Schools across the county were gripped by the Royal wedding fever as pupils and teachers celebrated Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s big day.

The bunting, banners and paper crowns were out in full force along with a range of Royal themes with an American twist.

Welshpool Church In Wales School celebrated with special parties by dressing up as wedding guests and members of the Royal Family.

Pupils enjoyed a feast of hot dogs, chips and ice-cream with sprinkles to celebrate the American marrying into the British royal family.

“We've all loved it,” said teacher, Claire Watkin.

“We're celebrating the Royal wedding and making the children aware of the Royal Family. The children have made crowns and dressed up in their wedding outfits. Even the staff have dressed up, too! We have Prince Harry, Meghan, Camilla and Prince Charles! It’s been really fun.”

School pupil Filip said: “We've made crowns by cutting papers to make colourful jewels like the Queen's, and we’re all dressed up like we’re going to the wedding. Gratulacje Harry i Meghan!" (Trans: 'Congratulations Harry and Meghan' in Polish)

"I've enjoyed it a lot. Making plans for it was a lot of fun. I'm really excited for the wedding.” said Cerys.

Grace said: “My favourite part has probably been the dinner, it was really tasty! My friends are coming round to mine so we might watch the wedding together.”
