STAFF from a Welshpool legal practice will be attempting to go up and down one of Wales’ most famous mountain peaks in less than a day to raise money for charities.

Practice manager Jonathan Perce will be leading the trek, he said: “We have 20 staff who will be attempting to walk Cadair Idris and we’re hoping to get it all done, up and down, in about five hours.

“We’ll hopefully be able to call into Brigand’s Inn for a meal on the way home!

The staff at Harrisions nominated charities to fundraise for and, following a vote, chose Brecon Mountain rescue and Wales Air Ambulance.

“We had a vote in the office to choose which charities we were going to support. We chose Brecon Mountain Rescue as we had one of our partner’s husband involved in the search for James Corfield last summer.

“Brecon Mountain Rescue were very prominent in that search and we wanted to do something to help them.

“Wales Air Ambulance also came up in our polll and it’s a very good cause.

Jon added: “We have a lunchtime walking club on Tuesdays and Wednesday. We go for a brisk walk of about three miles, around Powis castle and other parts of Welshpool, so we’re in training for the walk.
