A MOTHER of Two will be attempting a solo Quadrathlon feat of endurance next week to raise money and awareness for Alzheimer's Society.

Layla Spencer from Montgomery will be attempting to Run, Row, Swim and Cycle on Wednesday, April 25.

She has set herself the target of raising £250 for Alzheimers Society as her Nain (grandmother) Patricia Aitchison a former Welshpool Town councillor has been diagnosed with dementia.

Layla who works at Montgomery Medical Practice, explained: "I ran 10km for Macmillan cancer support last year, I enjoy training in the gym and doing this challenge for my Nain just popped in to my head, as it would help raise awareness of the disease and help fund research.

"It's also for my Grandpa who is always so strong, patient and caring while supporting Nain..

"The Quadrathlon, will be a 10km along the Montgomery canal a 5 km row at the Armoury gym a 1 km swim at The Flash and one hour or 20 km of Spinning."

"I've been trying to get to the gym up to four times a week to prepare..

"I'll be doing it by mysesf, but my Mum, Diana Spencer, will support me on the day, she is one of the founders of the Dolly Mixtures running group.
