Fabulous friseurs from across Powys were celebrating this week - after being shortlisted for a national award.

The 2018 Welsh Hair and Beauty Awards take place on May 13 at Glamorgan County Cricket Club, with a raft of Mid-Wales businesses up for the awards, which are now into their fifth year.

The skilful stylists of Tangles Hair Salon in Four Crosses have been nominated for Hair Salon of the Year for Mid-Wales, along with Vanity Hair and Beauty (Welshpool), The Cutting Room (Trefeglwys) and Envy Hair and Beauty (Newtown).

Beautiful You by Stacey Holder, of Crossgates, join Bodysense of Newtown in the Beauty Salon of the Year category, while Kate's Hair Salon (Newtown), Fitzgeralds (Welshpool) and Heidi Hair Studio (Llandrindod Wells) all feature in the "Most Wanted Salon of the Year" award.

Springs Spa (Llanrhaeadr) and The Spa Plas Talgarth (Machynlleth) join the Metropole Hotel and Spa (Llandrindod Wells) in the Spa of the year category.

Sunkissed Tanning & Beauty (Welshpool) and GloTanning & Beauty Salon (Newtown) are nominated in the Tanning Salon of the Year category.
