A man has been seriously injured following a collision near Dolgellau during the early hours of Sunday morning.
The pedestrian was walking along the A470 towards Brithdir shortly after 6.30pm when struck by a vehicle which then failed to stop.
The 24-year-old local man was taken to hospital in Aberystwyth by ambulance where he remains with serious, but not life threatening injuries.
Sergeant Anja Macleod of the Roads Policing Unit said: “We are appealing to the driver to make contact with us as soon as possible.
"Equally, anybody who may have seen the man walking along the A470 sometime between 3am and 6.30am, or who may have witnessed the collision should contact us to help with our investigation.”
