MATTHEW Higgins was joined by friends and family in celebrating his latest achievement last weekend.
The Trefeglwys teenager brought the curtain down on a successful karting season by being crowned the Vice British Champion over the weekend at PF International Kart Circuit in Brandon Brant Broughton to secure his ticket to represent the UK in the World Finals in Bahrain this December.
The young racing driver was a front runner all weekend, winning the first final and finishing third in the second.

Higgins had secured podiums at four of the five of the British Championship rounds this season, more than any other driver this year.
Higgins said: “It’s a mega end to the British Championship season especially after so many close battles with competitors all year.
“A huge thanks to the best team, Dan Holland Racing, Time Racing Engines, dad on the tools all year, my sponsors and Era Motorsport and of course my family and friends for their continuous support.
“Full focus is now on preparing for the World Finals in Bahrain in a couple of months time.”
