A Trefeglwys schoolgirl is a national gymnastics champion after she was rewarded the highest overall points for Welsh schools.
Lucy Beamond, a Year 5 pupil at Ysgol Dyffryn Trannon, recently competed in the Welsh Gymnastics Schools Disability Virtual online competition where she came first with her floor routine and had the highest points.
Gwenfair Owen, deputy headteacher, said: “We are so very proud of Lucy's achievements and determination here at Ysgol Dyffryn Trannon and wish her all the success in the future.”
Lucy is also a member of Llanidloes-based dance and cheer team Dragonettes who congratulated her “incredible” achievement.
“We are super proud of our Luce,” said a spokesperson for Dragonettes. “Lucy you are so inspirational the way you work super hard to achieve all your goals and never stop with the amazing smile. All your cheer family are bursting with pride well done you super star.”
