An art collection by a renowned late artist from Builth Wells has made its first public display in nearly 20 years.
Winifred Francis’ collection of ‘Builth... A journey through time’ made its re-emergence at The Wyeside Arts Centre on April 10.
The rarely seen art collection is part of a new exhibition, ‘Builth Wells - Past and Present’, which was curated by PowysArt and The Winifred Francis Art Gallery.
The exhibition displays the work of up and coming local artists such as 22-year-old modern sculpture artist Georgie Fergusson and talented photographers Annette Mills, David Nesbitt, Phil Davies and Laura Shepherd.
Also featured are the abstract paintings by Winifred Francis’ late husband, Jack, who was the High School’s art master and founded the Builth Male Voice Choir.
Winifred Francis designed the famous ‘Imperial Leather’ logo that has adorned bathrooms for decades.
The artworks are for sale and will be on display until June 7.
