OVER £9,000 worth of machinery was stolen in just a two and a half hour window over the weekend.

Dyfed- Powys Police is investigating a burglary at a council depot in Brecon and appealing for witnesses.

The incident took place between 11pm on Sunday, June 10 and 1.30am on Monday, June 11, three people broke in to the compound at Ffrwdgrech Road and searched storage containers and vehicles.

A Spokeswoman for Dyfed Powys Police, said: "At least 18 pieces of Stihl machinery were stolen, worth around £9,000.

"We think the offenders parked on the A40 Brecon bypass, close to the Tarell roundabout and they may have been parked there for a considerable amount of time."
