THIS year's Workhouse Festival promises to be bigger and better than ever with a packed line-up full of music, comedy, and children's entertainment.

The popular festival, which takes place at the Workhouse, Llanfyllin, is now in its fourth year and takes place from July 4 to 6.

The event promises to be another fantastic weekend, complete with an eclectic line-up of live music playing in the nine different venues at the unique and family friendly site.

Among those performing over the weekend are, Dreadzone, Babyhead, Sicknote, and LX Paterson of The Orb.

There's more to the festival than music though – the Cabaret Tent has proved a firm favourite for all festival goers, serving up a heady mix of tried and tested comedy performers, unique circus acts and modern puppetry with a dark comic twist.

Look out for Charlie Chuck the TV comic as seen on Reeves and Mortimer, Circus Delight's new act 'Drink Up', a physical theatre display of aerial acrobatics including a few unexpected thrills and spills and, Ruff Daddy, a puppet with more attitude than Puff and Prescott put together.

The Workhouse prides itself on the provision of kids' entertainment and they are promising this year will be the best to date.

Children of any age will love the circus, theatre and workshops, where you can go and get stuck into the puppet and instrument making, let yourself be tickled pink by Beatty Bunny and Panic Circus or be surprised by your own vocal abilities in the singing workshops.

The festival's organisers have also announced the much anticipated Saturday fancy dress theme – Anything Goes.

A spokesman for the organisers said: "As long as its glam, glitzy, funny or just plain ridiculous it will all add to the visual extravaganza. So dig out your glad rags and let your imagination run riot."

Tickets are selling fast but they are still available to buy at £55 for a weekend camping ticket in the following local shops: The Spar Llanfyllin, The Music House, Oswestry; Recycled Records, Shrewsbury; Zonker Crackers Welshpool; The Post Office, Llanrhaeadr-ym-Mochnant.

You can also buy tickets and check out the rest of the acts through the website www.workhousefestival.co.uk

If you want to help out and steward at the festival you can contact the festival team on 07890 458561 or by email on info@workhousefestival.co.uk
