Top A Level results for pupils across Montgomeryshire

SCHOOLS across Montgomeryshire have enjoyed their best ever A level results.
Almost six out of every 10 results (58 per cent) were at grades A and B, with 28 per cent of results awarded the top A-grade. Almost everyone who took an A level in Powys passed (99 per cent).
These results maintain the excellent results of last year and are once again significantly higher than Wales and England.
Welshpool High School have had some of their best results in history, with almost 25 per cent of students attaining three or more grade A, and 60 per cent achieving two or more grade A and B.
Mr Jim Toal, headmaster at Welshpool High School, said: "We are delighted by these outstanding A level results. The proportion for A and B grades is a very impressive 60 per cent, while the proportion of A and C grades is an excellent 77 per cent. The overall pass rate is 99 per cent and 36 per cent of those passes are at grade A, which is exceptional."
Newtown High School also enjoyed its best ever A level results, with 98 per cent of pupils passing with grades A to E.
Mr Steve Waldron, deputy headteacher, said: "Yet again, the school has seen a significant increase in pupils gaining their A to C and A to E grades, which are the best on record. The results are a fitting tribute to the hard work put in by pupils, staff and governors."
100 per cent of pupils at Llanfair Caereinion High School passed their A levels, with 87 per cent of them gaining grades A to C.
Headteacher Mr David Evans, said: "We are delighted with our excellent A level results. We are extremely proud of the achievements of all our students.
Another school to have enjoyed a 100 per cent pass rate is Llanfyllin High School.
Headteacher Mr Carl Mincher said: "Our congratulations go out to all the students who have once again achieved an excellent set of examination results at A level. We are delighted that all subjects in the school gained a 100 per cent pass rate. Overall, 33 per cent of passes were at grade A and 65 per cent were at A or B.
Llanidloes High School enjoyed another successful year with 58 per cent of its pupils achieving grades A to B, 81 per cent got grades A to C and 98 per cent enjoyed grades A to E.
Deputy headmaster Mr Darren Davies said: "The school is delighted for all of its students. Their efforts have once again been superb and we wish them every success for the future and thank them for sharing the last seven-years with us."
Ysgol Bro Ddyfi, Machynlleth, enjoyed a 100 per cent pass rate, with 70 per cent of pupils receiving grades between A and C.
Headteacher Ms Liz Pugh said: "Congratulations to Ysgol Bro Ddyfi sixth form pupils. The sixth form at Ysgol Bro Ddyfi is growing rapidly and these results show that the school provides excellent opportunities for young people."
