DORSET will go into one of their next two games against Cornwall with a new fast bowler likely to be included in their line-up.

Dan Kerry, who has played for West Moors in Dorset Saturday League Division One, features in the county's 11-man team for their ECB 38 Competition clash at home to Cornwall on Sunday, July 7.

The one-day encounter is being staged at Chapel Gate and Kerry is primed to make his senior debut for Dorset.

Dorset manager Peter Moxam said: "Dan goes to Loughborough University and joins us as a pace bowler.

"He is a friend of one of our other players, Kristian Wilson, who is also at Loughborough, and has already had a few games for Middlesex 2nds.

"We are going to have a look at Dan and the Cornwall one-day game is the ideal situation to do that in.

"I had been hoping to try out another fast bowler, Martin Souter, against Cornwall but, unfortunately, he is now unavailable to us for the rest of the season.

"It is good to get Dan involved though. We need some more quick bowlers because Dave Kidner has broken down with his back problem again, while Toby Sharpe is still not sure what he is doing this year.

"Dan has played some good club cricket this season and if he has played for Middlesex 2nds he could be more than useful for us."

Dorset entertain Cornwall in a three-day Minor Counties Championship Western Division clash at Dean Park starting on Sunday, June 30, before their ECB 38 match against the same opposition.
