PUPILS on a school bus travelling to Llanidloes High School were involved in a head-on collision this morning.
The bus, travelling from Llangurig to Llanidloes, was struck head on by a car around 8.48am.

Four pupils were taken to Bronglais Hospital in Aberystwyth by ambulance with what were described as minor injuries.

The four pupils, aged between 14 and 18, were all assessed and treated for minor injuries before being released.

Jill Jones, of Celtic Travel - coincidentaly the owners of the bus - was in a car travelling behind the bus.

She said: "There was a car coming round the corner. Suddenly it braked hard, the brakes locked, and it went straight across the road."

A spokesman for dyfed Powys Police said: "We were called to a road traffic collision halfway between Llanidloes and Langurig on the Cwmbelan bypass at 8.48am."

They said a Seat Cordoba estate was the other car involved in the accident and that the driver had been treated for minor injuries.

The road was closed as a result, although one lane was re-opened by 9.56am.
