THE Post Office has announced the closure of more branches in Mid Wales following a recent review.
However the Post Office said nearly 99 per cent of people would see no change to their existing branch or will be able to find another within a mile.

The closures are at Castle Caereinion, Llanbrynmair and Llanwrtyd Wells.

Steve Geraty of Post Office Limited in Wales said the decision to close a branch would often be unpopular.

"Nevertheless, we have to make decisions to close branches in order to put the network on a more stable footing for the future and achieve this in a way which best meets the demands and concerns of its customers," he added.

"Nearly 99% of the population will see no change to the branch that they currently use or would remain within one mile of an alternative outlet," he said.

"It is very important to us that our customers are kept informed of any changes to the network and that we provide them with full details of alternative options to enable them to continue to access Post Office services."

Recently the Post Office announced a number of closure of other brances in Powys, with only Tremont Road in Llandrindod Wells saved from the cull after being placed under threat.
