Miraculous escape from crash

MIRACULOUSLY the people involved in this collision escaped with their lives.

Two people inside a Vauxhall Astra sustained serious, but not life threatening, injuries when they collided with a lorry on the A483 Newtown to Welshpool road near Garthmyl at 12.42pm on Tuesday, May 6.

The female driver was seriously hurt and taken to the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital by police helicopter. The other was taken by road ambulance to the same hospital.

The road was closed until 8.15pm for police inquiries and traffic jams stretched back for eight miles to Newtown.
