Lembit in legal threat to Sian

SIAN Lloyd should stick to forecasting the weather and leave the sordid 'kiss and tell' stories to one side, according to readers.
MP Lembit Opik has had to witness his dirty linen washed in public following the serialisation of a book by his former fiancee, Sian Lloyd, 'A Funny Kind of Love'.
Montgomeryshire MP Lembit Opik is now taking legal advice after the book, which was serialised in a national newspaper over the weekend, made a number of derogatory allegations about the pair's time together.
Pete Jones, vice-chairman of the Montgomery-shire Liberal Democrats, said: "In reference to Sian Lloyd's latest comments about Lembit Opik in the newspapers, he is not at this stage willing to make any specific comment about it until he has taken legal advice over the matter.
"However, it should be noted that it is over one year since Miss Lloyd decided to end her relationship with Mr Opik.
"Miss Lloyd has also married the millionaire Mr Jonathan Ashman in that time. It is therefore difficult to understand Miss Lloyd's motives for pursuing Mr Opik in this way.
"Clearly, Mr Opik has not responded in like kind and this is very much to Lembit's credit. One would hope the public will take a similar and sympathetic view given the extent and intensity of Sian Lloyd's continuing interest in Mr Opik."
And it appears that the public are taking a similar view – with readers putting pen to paper to say what they think of Sian's latest revelations.
"I am getting a bit fed up with the distasteful attacks by that weather girl Sian Lloyd on Montgomeryshire MP Lembit Opik. Mrs Lloyd's endless criticisms give the impression she 'doth protest too much'," said County Times reader, Peter Hendry .
"If he's so dreadful, why did she stay with him for half a decade? Could it be that, after their split, she's still in love with him? Nobody knows the details of another person's relationship. But now she is married she hardly has cause to grind on about a relationship which she herself ended almost two years ago.
"Fair play to Mr Opik, he's resisted the temptation to sling mud back at her. I look forward to a 'kiss and tell' on Sian Lloyd to see the hero and the villain of this particular piece – though I know who seems the more noble just now."
