BURLESQUE, Boylesque and Theatre of the Grotesque is a cabaret style show including musical theatre, physical theatre, circus and dance.

The show, produced by students from Coleg Powys, draws on traditional music hall and theatre and challenges gender stereotypes.

The students are all members of Severn Star Productions and are working towards a BTec extended diploma in performing arts and a subsidiary diploma in musical theatre.

The dances have been choreographed by Elizabeth Hebden (dance tutor), Ruth Scott (course leader) and year two choreography students. The technical aspects have been co-ordinated by Victoria Marshall.

The performance will run at Theatr Hafren, Newtown, on Thursday, February 17 at 7.30pm. Tickets cost £5 (concessions £4).

The performance will be split into three acts and for £10 audiences can also enjoy a meal, provided by Themes Restaurant, as they watch the show.

To ant_in_wales we are a college friendly community but as being one of those performers i didnt appriciate your comment. We covered up as much as we could to keep the feeling of the caberet/ burlesque still there. We performed our best and used everything we had to keep a good performance for our community and an apoligy wouldnt go a miss. and its based on ancient music hall traditions so this is nothing new.
