LLANIDLOES made history with victory over Newtown booking their place in the fifth round for the first time in their history.
Victory was won in atrocious conditions, which forced Newtown into regular mistakes in a one-sided first-half.
Full-back Dan Short kicked three first-half penalties to give Llanidloes the lead at the interval.
Llanidloes continued to dominate after the break, with prop Neil Jarman and fly-half Adam Price guaranteeing progress with unconverted tries.
With victory assured, the home side sat back to soak up Newtown pressure, but the visitors were unable to force a route back into the tie.
Their only reward was a late consolation try from winger Richard Andrew, but if failed to detract from Llanidloes’ post match celebrations as they plotted a visit to Vardre in the last 16.
