Central Wales Cup, third round

Presteigne 2 Builth Wells 3

SAM Williams returned to haunt his former club with the extra-time winner clinching Builth Wells a fourth round derby with Rhosgoch Rangers.

A thrilling derby at Llanandras Park began with Shane Claridge scrambling the Wyesiders ahead after home goalkeeper Luke Brimfield spilled his initial effort.

A young Presteigne side threatened an equaliser with Tom Watkins denied by the crossbar before leading goalscorer Connor Bird levelled.

Builth suffered a blow when player-manager Jason Samuel landed awkwardly and sustained a dislocated shoulder, which now rules him out of the rest of the season, but managed to regain the lead before half-time with Harry Bastable heading home.

Presteigne got back into the game on the hour with the promising Callum Matthews spectacularly bicycle kicking his side on terms.

Builth were not to be denied and snatched an extra-time winner with Neil Davies sending Williams scampering through to book Builth’s fourth round ticket.
