BUZZ the abandoned puppy has enjoyed a Christmas full of love.
The sad pup touched the hearts of Journal readers after we told how he had been thrown over a 12ft wall in Rhyl.
Luckily his fall was cushioned by an old mattress and he was found cold and whimpering by a passer by.
She gave him to North Clwyd Animal Rescue who nursed him back to health.
In the meantime the Journal launched an appeal with the rescue centre for a new home for Buzz and in no time a family came forward.
Buzz has brought a lot of happiness to the family and a special two-year-old girl. When Evie-Beth Weaver fell into a coma her parents feared she would not make it.
Evie who lives with her family on Deeside almost died after contracting meningitis but was promised a dog when she was well enough.
Now she has formed an unbreakable bond with the12-week old Staffordshire lurcher.
Mum Adele, 28, said Evie became ill in September.
She said: “We did not think she would make it to this Christmas. There was one point when we did not think she would make it through the night.”
Buzz has now settled into life in the family home which he shares with Evie’s parents, grandparents and uncle Ian.
Grandmother Angela Lewis said: “Evie is a fan of Toy Story so when we heard his name was Buzz we thought it was meant to be. Buzz is lovely and we all love him to bits.
He is a special part of the family now. Evie loves him and they are the best of friends. He really loves it here, he goes berserk when he sees us and he has put on weight, he is four times the size when he came.
“I think Buzz is good for her. Hopefully they will grow up together.”
