Powys skies will soon be used as a an exercise space for a variety of aircraft, and could see planes flying in the area throughout day and night.
The Ministry of Defence has announced that a large-scale air exercise will take place over parts of Wales and the Welsh Marches during the period September 12 to October 1.
Throughout the exercise there will be occasions when participating aircraft will be required to operate at low level, and this may include low level orbits.
The Ministry of Defence added that any time spent conducting low level flying will be the minimum necessary to achieve the training objectives with every effort being made to minimise disturbance; and additionally, where low flying operations have been arranged as part of the exercise, this precludes the use of the same area by aircraft carrying out routine low-level training flying.
