Montgomery Town 5 Llanfyllin Town 0

MONTGOMERY opened their second division campaign with a resounding win over a youthful Llanyllin Town at Clostanymur.

The hosts never looked back after a Lee Jones strike early on broke the deadlock.

Gary Bromley opened his season account before half-time with strike partner Tony Meredith on target after the break.

Summer signing Jake Parr rocked the bar with a 35 yard blast before adding his name to the tally with debutant Alex Bromley completing the rout late in the day.

Monty manager Clive McNamee said: “The league is always our top priority so it was a good way to start our campaign.”
