STAR of stage and screen Claire Sweeney will be returning to Llandudno in Andrew Lloyd Webber's Tell Me On A Sunday.

Originally conceived for television starring Marti Webb, the beloved show - which was created alongside Don Black - has been performed by legendary musical theatre stars Elaine Paige, Sarah Brightman and Denise Van Outen.

Now Claire Sweeney takes on this celebrated role which features a wonderful score and the chart topping hits Take That Look Off Your Face, Unexpected Song and the title track Tell Me on a Sunday.

The musical charts the romantic misadventures of a young English girl newly arrived in New York.

Brimming with optimism, she seeks success, companionship and, of course, love. But as she weaves her way through the maze of the city and her own anxieties, frustrations and heartaches she begins to wonder whether - in fact - she's been looking for love in all the wrong places.

Andrew Lloyd Webber’s numerous awards include seven Tonys, three Grammys, seven Olivier’s, a Golden Globe, an Oscar, two Emmys and the Richard Rodgers Award for Excellence in Musical Theatre.

Don Black is an Oscar winning lyrist (Born Free) and penned numerous James Bond theme tunes and chart hits, including Michael Jackson’s Ben and Lulu’s ‘To Sir With Love’.

  • Tell Me On A Sunday will be showing at Venue Cymru in Llandudno on Tuesday, September 7. For more information or to book tickets contact the Box Office on 01492 872000 or visit the website at www.venucymru.co.uk
