CARNO Football Club hosts its 50th anniversary and reunion at the village community centre on Saturday, September 4.

The club was formed in 1960 and have since established themselves among the top clubs in Mid Wales football with the current crop of players among the favourites to win the Spar Mid Wales League this season.

Organiser Bernard Evans was among the original founders of the club and hopes as many former players as possible can help celebrate the club’s landmark season.

“Carno Football Club would like to invite all those people who have been associated with the club over the past 50 years to the reception.

“The club sees the event as an informal occasion for old friends and their partners to enjoy meeting and catching up with old friends. We hope as many former players as possible can attend.”

The programme for the afternoon will see Carno entertain Dyffryn Banw in the Spar Mid Wales League before a buffet is held from 5-8pm at the nearby community centre.

Evans added: “Anyone interested in coming along are asked to contact a member of the club so we can gauge some idea of numbers for catering.”

Further details on the event are available from Alan Humphreys on 07789586979; Bernard Evans on (01686) 420503; Edgar Hughes on (01686) 624059 or Gareth Griffiths on (01686) 420272.
