A TECHNICAL fault has been identified with the pedestrian lights in Newtown and engineers are fixing it remotely, says the council.

Powys County Council has confirmed that a fault with the lights near McDonalds and Tesco was reported yesterday, and that technical experts Siemens were sent out on site to inspect the problem.

Today they are continuing to investigate the problem remotely from an off-site location, and it is hoped the lights will be fixed before the end of the day.
