YSGOL Bryn Elian students are celebrating after scoring "exceptional" A-level grades.
Pupils flocked to the school this morning (Thursday) to pick up their examination results, which will determine whether or not they have secured a place in university of their choice.
High achievers this year included James Scott, who secured five A grades and will be going on to study Law in Manchester University.
And head boy Richard Davies was thrilled after receiving two A*, two A's and a B.
Staff at Ysgol Bryn Elian also congratulated Year 12 pupil Krzysztof Kosmala who was awarded an A* and an A grade at A-level.
Teachers at the school described results in the Welsh Baccalaureate as "exceptional", and said they were positive the academic success in the challenging course would "open doors" to universities in the highly competitive environment.
Headteacher of Ysgol Bryn Elian, Eithne Hughes, said: “I am delighted that our students have done so very well. Congratulations for all the obvious achievements in this year group in a range of academic and vocational courses.
"Bryn Elian’s success comes from the balance of academic rigor and looking after the wider interests of the students through a wide range of opportunities and experiences offered to each and every individual.
"Thanks go to all the staff for their hard work and excellent teaching of these students. I wish all students the very best of luck for their continued studies.”
The strong scores for sixth form students have continued the positive trend over the last few years at Ysgol Bryn Elian, with an increased number of students choosing to remain at the school to study for A-levels.
