THIS August, Llandrindod Wells will be transported back to the 19th century as the town celebrates its 29th annual Victorian Festival.
The popular event, which includes themed nights, parades and even a ball, will take place in Llandrindod from Saturday, August 21 to Sunday, August 29, culminating in the annual fireworks display.
The crowds of Victorians will have a chance to win prizes in the costume competitions, see a historic vehicles display and listen to Llandrindod Wells Town Band, Brecon Town Band, Ffrindiau and the Holy Trinity Church Orchestra.
The nine-day festival kicks off with the opening ceremony, followed by a weekend of excitement at the fair, taking part in the grand costume parade and learning a few tricks at the circus workshop.
The week continues with costume contests, fascinating talks with Martin Heighway, Lynne Tippit, David Littler and Geoffrey Codd, the children’s party day and a bread workshop.
With so much going on, it’s no wonder that people travel from all over the country and further to take part in this famous festival.
After a memorable week of exciting experiences, the boat race, antique fair and grand ball are the perfect ending for such a fun-filled journey through the Victorian era, before the grand raffle draw and final fireworks display send it out with a bang.
