KIRSTY Williams and Nick Bourne have welcomed an announcement from the Assembly Government for a grant towards restoration of an historic Radnorshire church.

St Anno’s Church in Llananno will receive over £18,000 from the historic building grants project, which provides funds to assist in essential repairs and restoration work to buildings across Wales.

St Anno’s is a small 19th century parish church that is notable for many of its fine features, including its exceptional rood screen that appears in some Victorian churches between the alter and pews.

They are often highly decorated and rarely seen today.

Kirsty Williams said: “I am delighted that this money will enable essential repairs to be carried out to St Anno’s church.

"The building needs roof and stonework repairs and this money will be very welcome indeed.”

Nick Bourne said: "I very much welcome the news of this Historic Buildings Grant which will go a long way in preserving St Anno's Church for the enjoyment of future generations."
