AFTER pushing myself back to near fitness i broke down again just before our first away match with Seattle Sounders.
Sadly after some more swelling to my knee I did not make the trip there. Everyone knew it was going to be tough, as Seattle showed last year how strong they were and happily the boys did produce.
Because of the time difference i was sat on my bed with an ice pack watching the match as it went past midnight.
After a very open 10 minutes we scored off a corner when Matt Landji opened his account with a excellent finish. Surviving some late pressure we defended well and our keeper bouna coundal made some excellent saves throughout the match.
If omens were to go by, they weren't good as our coach did not make the game after a stomach virus confinded him to the hotel.
It was irrelevant as Richie Williams led the team to a 1-0 victory on the road which makes us unbeaten in two games. A good start, but that's all it is, still a long way to go.
As with not travelling to Seattle I got to do some things in my spare time.
I watched the biggest game of the season so far as Chelsea dominated Man Utd at Old Trafford to blow open the title race. Now it is in their hands, although do not write off Arsenal who again sneaked a late goal to blow Wolves' hopes of a point.
Arsenal face the easier run in and no doubt there will still be more points dropped!
Darren Bent had the chance to ram taunts down former club Spurs' throats and although scoring two goals, he missed two penalties in a bizarre game! It would have been nice for him to bag a hat-trick though.
Man City showed what they can do with three goals in four minutes to bury Burnley.
Newcastle are on the brink of going back where they belong but the play offs are hotting up! The Cardiff versus Swansea match had everything.. goals, talking points and two managers' wise thoughts after the game were miles apart!
Cardiff won 2-1 thanks to a late winner but Swansea are still in the hunt. I really hope that they both make it to the play-offs and play each other... That's a dream for all I think, but then only if you win the game!!
Finally I got to find a place in Hoboken for my family when they come over. It's right on the waterfront overlooking the Manhattan skyline...
For a boy from Mid Wales to play for New York Red Bull and live overlooking the best city in the world.... It doesn't get any better than this!!
The final piece of my jigsaw is when my wife and kids come out next week to be with me... Then I can live the dream...
