POTTEDProductions presents Potted Pirates at Aberystwyth Arts Centre on Sunday, March 7, 2.30pm.
Following the hilarious success of Potted Potter, CBBC presenters Dan and Jeff have created this new compressed caper.
In search of talking parrots and mysterious buried treasure, they’re swapping wizards for walking the plank and trading Hogwarts for the high seas.
Potted Pirates promises tall tales of the seven seas, from Long John Silver to Blackbeard, plus notorious cross dressing lady pirates Anne Bonny and Mary Read. Dan and Jeff also promise a full-scale re-enactment of the Spanish Armada, featuring thirty actors in full costume. Will Dan persuade Jeff to let him play Jack Sparrow? And how will Jeff keep things ship-shape with that scallywag aboard?
Daniel Clarkson and Jefferson Turner have played three sell-out Edinburgh seasons and London runs with Potted Potter and have toured extensively in the UK – the show toured internationally in 2009.
Best known as CBBC presenters, the pair have made storytelling appearances on the good pirate ship Blue Peter and Big Brother’s Little Brother.
Co-writer and director, Richard Hurst directed Potted Potter and joined the writing team for Potted Pirates when it was commissioned last year.
His other work as a writer and director includes Bill Hicks: Slight Return and as director, Silly Billy Bum Breath. Forthcoming work as a writer includes episodes of Secret Diary Of A Call Girl (ITV2, Showtime) and as a co-writer on episodes of Miranda (BBC2), with Miranda Hart. He is currently writing the book for Forever, The Musical for James Seabright.
Recommended for shipmates aged six to Davey Jones (who is very old indeed), even those who don't know their shipping forecast from their sea shanty.
Tickets for this performance are £6 (£4) Cardi Card £5 (£3) and can be booked by contacting the Arts Centre Box Office on 01970 62 32 32 or online at www.aber.ac.uk/artscentre
