CAERSWS succumbed to a single goal defeat for the third consecutive game, as they remain rooted to the league basement.
The Bluebirds have now failed to score in the last 270 minutes and have not found the net in nine top-flight games this season.
Once again it was a case of so near, yet so far, for Caersws with Phil Jones spurning a last gasp opportunity to steal a point.
Carmarthen were lively from the start, with Paul Fowler testing Dave Jones inside the opening minutes.
Carmarthen were relieved to celebrate a 29th minute opener, with Nathan Cotterrall squaring for Danny Thomas and Fowler, to set-up Mark Pritchard to fire home.
A rare first-half opportunity for Caersws fell for Mark Griffiths, only for the youngster to spoon over.
Caersws emerged after the break and gave a much improved showing, to underline their refusal to accept relegation.
Chances were few and far between for both sides with visiting goalkeeper Jones superbly palming over Fowler’s volley, while Jones denied Tim Hicks.
Caersws went for broke as the minutes ebbed away, with Graham Jones linking with substitute Corey Jenkins to set-up Phil Jones, who ballooned over the bar.
