JACQUI Loxam started and finished Welshpool’s ruthless routing of an outclassed Llanfair Caereinion in a 7-0 derby victory.

Loxam got the ball rolling, before partner in crime Ceri Chapman added a first-half brace to put the game to bed.

It got worse for Llanfair after the break, with Caroline Jones continuing the scoring before Nia Jones celebrated her brace.

Loxam finished off a sensational Welshpool display with the seventh goal.

However there was frustration for Newtown, who now face a mammoth end of season fixture list, after their weekend double header was a victim of the weather.

Having been forced to vacate their dilapidated Maldwyn Leisure Centre base their new home at the Flash in Welshpool will now be used to tackle the pile-up.

Radnor saw their first division clash in the South Wales League at Sue Noakes postponed due to snow.

Elsewhere Kington lost in their second division clash at Cardiff Athletic, with Catherine Jones scoring a consolation in a 3-1 derby defeat.

Meanwhile Newtown Men were once again indebted to top goalscorer Neil Godsell to save a point in their 1-1 draw at home to Stafford in the Bodykraft West Midlands Men’s League.

Steve Sudale scored for the visitors, but Godsell bagged a richly deserved equaliser.
