WELSHPOOL frustrated ambitious Airbus UK to claim their second successive league point.

It was the second point Welshpool had taken off the Broughton club this season and damaged the visitors’ bid for a top 10 finish.

For Welshpool manager Huw Griffiths the performance underlined his faith is his team, having stuck by them through a miserable first half of the campaign.

A well-organised defence - minus the crocked Geraint Windsor and unavailable John Boardman - restricted Airbus to few chances, while Welshpool were content to attack on the break.

Marc Griffiths fired wide for Welshpool before Danny Desormeaux drove a strike wide for Airbus.

A poor attempted clearance from Mark Allen fell for Griffiths, who ballooned high and wide for Pool.

Airbus improved after the interval and were camped inside the Lilywhites half for lengthy spells.

Goalkeeper Dave Maguire endeared himself to the home crowd with a great save to deny Jack Abraham a late winner, as Welshpool held firm for a battling point.
