North Wales Plate Quarter Final First Leg

Colwyn Bay 9
COBRA 13

WYN Astley was the match winner with his last gasp try knocking the stuffing out of division one hosts Colwyn Bay.

Three penalties from the boot of fly-half Dave Hocknall gave Bay the edge, before COBRA started their fightback with a penalty from Geraint Williams.

Wing Ifan Evans set-up a tense finale when he crossed for an unconverted try, before Astley scored the winning try at the death.

The second leg will be held this Sunday at Cae Cobra with a 2.30pm kick-off.

* Meanwhile the first legs of both North Wales Intermediate Plate matches will also be held on Sunday (2.30pm).

Newtown host North Wales districts league side Abergele, while Machynlleth entertain Harlech.
