Still chance to catch Scarecrow at venues across Mid Wales

THEATR Powys is taking its family-friendly touring play, Scarecrow, to audiences across Powys and Wales in January and February.

And there’s still plenty of opportunity to catch it somewhere in Wales before the run ends.

Scarecrow follows 10-year-old Wynne and her contemporaries as they attempt to understand the ideas and realities of friendship, family, kindness and cruelty in rural Mid Wales.

Director, Ian Yeoman, said Scarecrow will appeal to contemporary audiences of all ages: “The children are struggling with big questions. They need each other and they learn a lot.

“They make me wish to listen to them and listen to the child in me. This story feels ongoing and important.”

The play will tour theatres, community centres, schools and village halls up and down Wales in January and February 2010. Scarecrow will offer young people and their families a rare and affordable opportunity to see professional, contemporary theatre that reflects their experiences of growing up in Wales.
