The versatile 29-year-old midfielder suffered cruciate ligament damage to his knee during pre-season, which saw him need an operation.

However Windsor - Welshpool’s record appearance holder - is now back in contention for the depleted Lilywhites.

“It’s great to be back,” said Windsor. “Just playing football again is fantastic after so many months out.

“Five months is a long time out, so I am really looking forward to getting back playing regularly.”

Windsor has returned to training but the weather conditions have ensured his return to league action has been delayed.

“I am not sure when we’ll play again with the snow still falling, but I am ready should I get the nod.”

Following the departure of several key players during the opening fortnight of the mid-season window Welshpool manager Huw Griffiths will throw Windsor back in the mix.

Windsor added: “I have a lot of time for the manager who has done superbly to get players to Welshpool considering our budget.

“I do not know too many of the new lads yet, but they are all young and have the eagerness to prove themselves for Welshpool.”

Windsor is likely to step in for Peter Doran with the 21-year-old defender all set to depart Maesydre.

Manager Huw Griffiths said: “Port Talbot Town and Airbus UK Broughton have offered him better terms, while he is also talking to Northwich Victoria and Altrincham so Peter will be leaving.

“I am still hopeful of bringing in a few more players but obviously it depends on what we can work into our budget.”

Griffiths revealed the club had missed out on defender Matthew Hurdman with the ex-Wrexham apprentice opting for a more lucrative move to Principality Welsh Premier rivals Bangor City.

Caersws will unveil new signing Phil Jones, after the striker completed his move from Cymru Alliance strugglers Gresford Athletic.

The pacey 29-year-old former Wrexham apprentice has Welsh Premier experience with Cefn Druids and becomes manager Mickey Evans’ first signing of the mid-season transfer window.

“Phil has a good record in the Alliance and will look to do a job for us and we are working hard to make sure we make further signings,” said Evans.

“Obviously strengthening is difficult because clubs do not necessarily want to lose players at this point of the season.”

The club looks to have fended off the interest of Gap Connahs Quay in midfielder Graham Jones but winger Dave Hughes has left the club for Buckley Town.
