Grapes revival continues

THE Grapes’ revival continued in a 6-1 hammering of Newtown rivals Elephant Wanderers at the Riverside.


Gareth Mansell and Marc Salvati shared the limelight with two goals apiece, while strikes from Jamie Smart and Richie Evans ensured Dave Jones’ effort was just consolation.


Angel Welshpool scrapped out a 2-2 draw on the Flash astroturf against Unicorn Caersws as honours ended even.


Thomas Evans and Ben Loisz goals for the villagers were cancelled out by Stuart Buckley-Robins and Matthew Knight, but the point proved costly for the hosts who lost two players to injury.


Jake Evans and top scorer Buckley-Robins sustained ligament damage.
