HAYLEY Price starred with a brace as Radnor spanked Swansea IIs 3-0 in the first division of the South Wales Ladies’ League.

Marie Jones completed the scoring as Radnor maintained their encouraging start to the campaign.

Elsewhere Kington went down 2-0 at home to Penarth IIIs in division two, with visiting skipper Irene Williamson scoring both.

The North Wales Ladies’ League schedule was wiped out with Llanfair Caereinion, Welshpool and Newtown left kicking their heels.

Meanwhile Newtown Men were forced to switch their game to Welshpool due to the worsening state of their traditional Maldwyn astro-turf home.

The desperately outdated facility is currently encountering its traditional drainage problems, which ensure its all-weather surface is ironically unplayable.

Newtown hosted Old Silhillians at the Flash Leisure Centre and went down 5-3 in the first division of the Bodykraft West Midlands League.

Goals from Gareth Preece, Jon Atkinson and Dave Hamer were not enough for Newtown with the visitors’ triumph secured by goals from Liam Cole and Max Levenger, with Chris Thorpe firing a hat-trick.

However Presteigne continue to lead the Shropshire Ladies’ League after a 6-1 hammering of Bridgnorth.

Goals from Carrie Tomkins and Deb Evans gave Presteigne a comfortable interval lead, with Tomkins completing her brace after the break.

Jess Goodwin also bagged two goals with the scoring completed by a top corner thunderbolt from returning skipper Lesley Phillips.

In the South Powys Badgers League a Sioned Price hat-trick inspired Presteigne to a 4-0 win at Brecon, with Kate Price also on target.

Brecon hit back later in the week with Hetta Carthew and Sophie Arnold both netting twice in a 5-3 win over Gwernyfed, with Izzy Thomas completing Brecon’s tally.
Gwernyfed stayed in contention with goals from Lauren Horner, Nia Calls and player of the match Danielle Jenkins.
