THE last two weeks have been tough to say the least.
After our loss to Colorado away we then faced them at home in another big match.
After missing the away match through my ankle injury, I trained on the Thursday in preparation for the match.
My ankle held up and I was good to go. But then in the warm-up I got my foot stuck in the turf and on Dwayne de Rosario’s foot and my ankle went again.
I was in total pain and lay motionless on the pitch for what seemed ages.
After being assessed it was decided that I was not good to go and had to miss the match.
I was gutted but these things happen in football and there is nothing you can do.
Onto the game and it was a super result as we won by three goals to one after goals from Dwayne, O’Brien White and Nana Atokora.
It was a big game and kept us right in the mix for the play off push.
Credit must go to Amado Guevara who had to play instead of me after playing in Mexico three days earlier in a world cup qualifier and also to our manager Chris Cummings who made a great tactical substitution at the right time of the match.
Because I had been injured at the weekend I ended up having to miss the trip to LA to face David Beckham’s Galaxy team at the Home Depot Centre.
This was another good test for us as they are flying in their conference but had just been beaten by 6-2 at home by FC Dallas, so I thought this was a good time to play them.
The match started slowly when David Beckham scored after eight minutes and we then faced an uphill battle.
Chances were exchanged throughout the game but after another mix up at the back for us our former player Edson Buddle scored as we went down 2-0.
This was a disappointing result for us as we had lots of possession but did not create that many chances in front of goal.
We now face a must win game away at Chicago on saturday as our play-off hopes go down to the last four games.
It is time for players to step up to the plate as each game has that extra bit of pressure on it now, but these are the games that every player wants to play in.
We have four cup finals left. We must win three games at least to have a chance of reaching the play-offs.
Back home I have to mention the Manchester derby on the weekend.
WOW is all I can say.
Talk about entertainment, goals, mistakes, shots, fighting, arguing, bad defending, the list goes on.....oh and added on time too.
This was the best derby ever, and will be one of the top 10 matches of all time in the Premier League.
It was great to see Craig Bellamy scoring two goals - but maybe not slapping that supporter - and even better to see Giggsy run the show for Man Utd.
What a genius this man is, still going strong and playing some cracking football too, but never forget he is a total gentleman too.
One thing is for sure - he will go on to be a top manager as well.
Talking about going on to be a manager, I am going to take my UEFA A license back home at the end of the season.
I could take the US soccer one but am not going to, unlike a lot of the players here and will now do this off my own back when the season ends.
I am getting a lot of help from Osian Roberts with this and must say a big thank you.
