More lights seen in the night sky above Powys

FOLLOWING last week story on the increase in UFO sightings in Powys this summer, two more people have submitted photographs taken of Unidentified Flying Objects.

Emma Mayall, of Dolanog, was letting the dogs out for their daily night exercise at approximately 10pm last month when she saw what she believes was a flying saucer hovering high above her head.

Emma quickly went to collect her camera and took a collection of photographs (see above).

She said: “I am convinced it was a UFO that I saw. I think people who think we are the only living beings on this earth are very naive.

“The object hovered in the sky before they moved in a sharp sudden zig-zag movement and then hovered again.

“We regularly get aeroplanes going over so we are used to seeing those kind of lights, but these were definitely different. We have had a lot of sightings where we live, especially our back field and front field.”

Meanwhile, in Llansanffraid, John Jones, of Glas Coed Courtyard, took these photographs of what he believes to be a UFO flying above his house at 11.30pm on Saturday night.

He said: “I saw a big light in the sky and dashed into the house to get my camera. The light was squarish with circular edges and there was an orange light underneath it.

“On the photograph the light shows up as being white but at the time it was more of an orange colour. There were three of them in total, one remained still, one slowly moved off and the other sped off, leaving a tail behind.

“This is not the first time I have witnessed something, so although I wouldn’t say I am a fanatical believer, I am not a non-believer that there is something out there.”

These sightings look very like Chinese Flying Lanterns ... there has been a bit of a craze for these over the last few months. The first time I saw one was the only time I had ever seen something I couldn't easily identify (hence a UFO). Fortunately I quickly saw someone letting off another 3 latterns. If you hear of any sightings near Montgomery in the next few weeks they will probably be our lanterns and when we do let them off I'll submit some IFO pictures that look like UFOs.
