25 schools closed on Thursday as teachers strike

MANY classrooms across Powys will be empty on Thursday due to the first teaching strike in 21 years.
25 schools in Powys have signalled that they will be closed or partially closed on Thursday because of the number of NUT members unavailable to teach.

Schools set to close are: Abermule Primary, Brecon High School, Builth High School, Buttington Trewern Primary, Caehopkin Primary, Caereinion High School, Crickhowell High School, Guilsfield, Hafren Primary, John Beddoes, Llandrindod Cefynllys, Llandrindod High School, Llanfaes Primary, Llangorse Primary, Llanidloes High School, Maesyrhandir Primary, Maeysdderwen High School, Newtown High School, Penmaes Special School, Penrhos Primary, Rhayader Primary, Whitton Primary, Cwmtwrch.

Two classes will be open at Mount Street Infants while at Penycae the infants classes are closed but junior classes will be continuing.

Llanidloes Primary School has four classes affected by the strike but the rest of the school is open.
