They are warning that “heavy rain is expected, with a chance of thunderstorms, leading to travel disruption and some flooding.”

According to the Met Office, this heavy rain could lead to “spray and sudden flooding” which “could lead to difficult driving conditions and some road closures”.
They add that there could be further disruption to travel as “where flooding or lightning strikes occur, there is a chance of delays and some cancellations to train and bus services”.
The Met Office are also warning there is “a slight chance that power cuts could occur and other services to some homes and businesses could be lost”.
They also warn of potential flash flooding and added: “There is a small chance that homes and businesses could be flooded quickly, with damage to some buildings from floodwater, lightning strikes, hail or strong winds.”
For those who need to travel they recommend that you can drive more safely by “slowing down, using main roads, using dipped headlights, giving yourself more time to react on slippery surfaces and keeping a bigger gap between vehicles.”
