A TEENAGER who is accused of inflicting grievous bodily harm on a Powys man has seen his case sent immediately to the crown court.
Joshua Davies, 19, appeared at Llandrindod Wells Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, April 10, where his case was committed to the higher court.
Davies, of Alexander Street, Burton Latimer, Northamptonshire, appeared at the hearing via videolink, wearing a white shirt and black tie.
He entered a plea of not guilty to unlawfully and maliciously wounding Paul McCarley in Rhayader on June 28, 2022 – he would have been 17 at the time of the alleged offence.
Prosecutor James Sprunks said the case was not suitable for summary trial, with Davies’ representative, Geraint Parry, concurring.
Magistrates committed the case to Merthyr Tydfil Crown Court and told Davies to appear there on May 8.
James Dimaio, a co-defendant, was also due to appear at the hearing but was not present, and magistrates issued a warrant for his arrest.
