Magistrates have issued a police warrant to arrest a Welshpool man who failed to turn up to court today (Tuesday, March 12).
Dominic Grant, aged 25, was expected to attend Welshpool Magistrates' Court to plead guilty or not guilty to a charge of aggravated vehicle taking.
Grant, of Castle Walk, Welshpool, had been charged with taking a silver Mercedes E-Class car without consent in Llansantffraid.
He is accused of causing less than £5,000 worth of damage to the vehicle before it was recovered.

Grant was expected to appear in court to face the charge on February 27 but it was adjourned for two weeks because he said he had Covid and was unable to attend the hearing.
After Grant failed to attend court for the second time, prosecutor Helen Tench asked for an arrest warrant not backed for bail, which was granted by chairman of the bench Dr Rachel Jones.
The warrant means that, if arrested by the police, Grant will be brought to court at the next available opportunity.
