AN assault case against a Powys businessman has been thrown out due to a lack of evidence.
Eian Tauber Pritchard, owner of North Road Garage in Llanelwedd, Builth Wells, had always denied assaulting Clive Norman at the garage showroom on July 25 last year.
Pritchard, 65, of Hospital Road, Builth, formally entered a not guilty plea at Llandrindod Wells Magistrates’ Court in December.
His trial had been scheduled to take place in Llandrindod on February 14, but the case was discontinued at the request of the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) on February 8.
The CPS said the decision had been made on the basis that “there is not enough evidence to provide a realistic prospect of conviction”.
