A MAN has been charged with possession of an imitation firearm after an incident in a Powys town last week.
Dyfed Powys Police confirmed they were called to an incident in Llanidloes last Friday, February 2, following concerns raised by a local resident that a man was carrying a gun.
Police said a man aged 24 was arrested and later released pending further investigation. They also said two teenagers were arrested in connection with the incident and were also later released.
“Concern was raised by a member of the public that a man was in possession of a firearm on Brook Street, Llanidloes, on Friday, February 2,” said a force spokesperson.

“Police attended and following a search a 24-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of possession of an imitation firearm. He was later released under investigation pending further police enquiries.
“Two 19-year-old men, also arrested in connection with the incident, were later released with no further action at this time.”
A member of the public contacted the County Times, reporting that the incident happened at around 2.45pm on Friday.
The person, who was out walking their dog, reported seeing three males and a significant police presence – including armed officers – along the River Severn near the Little Heroes nursery.
