Residents have been told that traffic lights will be in place in a Powys border village for two weeks while work goes ahead to fix a wall that was demolished in a “serious accident”.
Three sets of traffic lights will be in place on the A490 and Shrewsbury Road in Chirbury from Mondays, February 12 to 26.
The stone boundary wall at No.1 West House was damaged in September following a car crash.

Mike Curry, director of the building conservation firm that will be carrying out the work, told residents that traffic lights could be removed earlier if the wall is mended sooner.
He said: “Due to a serious accident on the junction of the A490 and B4386 roads in relation to No.1 West House where the stone boundary wall has been demolished Phillips and Curry Limited has been employed by Powis Estates to rebuild the wall.
“In order for the works to comply with the latest Health and safety legislation we have employed a Road Traffic Management company, Amberon, to install traffic lights at the junction to manage the flows of traffic so as to provide a safe working environment whilst the works are taking place.”
“Phillips and Curry would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused whilst these necessary works are being conducted.”
