Storm Gerrit has led to power cuts for multiple areas across Powys this morning.

Both the Scottish Power Energy Network and the National Grid who maintain the power infrastructure across Powys have reported a number of power cuts across the region this morning (December 28).

According to Scottish Power there have been cuts in the Montgomeryshire area overnight most of which have been resolved this morning. However they are still reporting issues for the following postcodes:

SY21 0AT, SY21 0BH, SY21 0BW, SY21 0DG, SY21 0DP, SY21 0HL, SY21 0HN, SY21 0HP, SY21 0HR, SY21 0HS, SY21 0HT, SY21 0HW, SY21 0JS, SY21 0JU, SY21 0JX, SY21 0RN, SY21 0SF, SY21 0SG, SY21 0XX, SY21 9EA, SY21 9EB, SY21 9ED and  SY21 9HE.

OTHER NEWS: 

The company have said: "The  power loss has been caused by the impact of Storm Gerrit on our electricity network. Our control centre will attempt to reset the network remotely and when it's safe to do so will commence repairs. We expect power to be back on by 12noon of December 28 2023."

The National Grid have reported 37 properties near Churchstoke without power and have said the following postcodes are currnetly affected: 

SY15 6HU, SY15 6HX, SY15 6HY, SY15 6SP, SY15 6TD, SY15 6TY, SY15 6TZ, SY15 6UL

They also report that there are issues in the Brecon area with 43 properties affected in the following areas:

LD3 9TD, LD3 9TE, LD3 9TF, LD3 9TG, LD3 9TH, LD3 9TP, LD3 9TR, LD3 9TW
