NICK Evans is the new chairman of Newtown Football Club.
The Newtown businessman was confirmed as the successor of Howard Ellis at the club annual meeting last night.
Mr Ellis steps down after five years at the helm at Latham Park whichh included back-to-back Europa Conference appearances and achieving Category A status for its junior academy.
Mr Evans said: "I am honoured to take on the role of chairman at Newtown AFC.

Nick Evans joins Newtown at a time of immense potential.
Under Evans’ leadership, Newtown will aim to strengthen its position within the league, enhance its commercial partnerships and continue to be an integral part of the local community.
Mr Ellis said: "It has been a privilege to serve as chairman of Newtown AFC.
"I have no doubt that Nick’s expertise and dedication will drive the club towards great achievements. I wish him all the best in his new role and look forward to seeing Newtown AFC flourish under his guidance."
