A MAN accused of driving while disqualified in Powys is set to appear in court in the New Year.

Aaron Bailey, 45, had been due to appear at Welshpool Magistrates’ Court last week, but he failed to attend.

Bailey, of Chester Road, Streetly, Walsall, is accused of driving a Citroen Relay van while disqualified on August 22 in Foel, on the A458, as well as driving without insurance.

At the hearing last Tuesday, December 6, magistrates received a letter from Bailey’s partner, describing him as having suffered a breakdown.

Magistrates agreed to adjourn Bailey’s case until January 10, 2023. The defendant will be expected to attend on that occasion or it should be sufficient time to obtain a medical note saying he’s unfit to attend.

Magistrates warned that if neither were forthcoming a warrant for his arrest will be issued.
